Forest Floor: Still Life With Magic

Begin with a blue sky river after 

days of rain leave the woods moist

and mess, a canvas fresh and even

grotesque

my mission is catching fungi

in the act of making art

of surprise, forest life sprouts silly

visions, wonderland fairies creep 

low on the forest floor 

out of rot and decay, conjuring

shock, the heart stopping wonder

of being in woods
