Nancy Goodheart Matthews created the Mermaid Fountain in Sarasota,
Crash landing into the morning, exhausted from so much fun activity yesterday. I wake late, and we have a full house of company. My walk is late and long and with much talking, nonstop with my dear friend Tonya while my daughter plays with her sons on the beach. We walk to Bradenton Bridge and back and I’m so happy to share my special walk with her. There is no time to write or prepare for my group tonight, and my friends leave, but we decide to take my daughter and her boyfriend to dinner in Sarasota, which is lovely, and I’m fighting exhaustion, which is rare for me. We walk around downtown Sarasota, and the first picture I take of this day is the mermaid fountain, strange and enchanting. We drive home, under a sky full of starts and strangely shaped clouds and a crescent moon, and I fall into bed, finally, happy and tired, tired, tired.
