#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Farm, Katama
Katama Marsh
I was relived to wake up out of a dream where I was writing a comic monologue for the actor Goldie Hawn and I hadn’t finished, or even started it, and she was going on in an hour. This was the better of two challenging dreams last night; the other a nightmare. Something’s got under my skin and I’m not having great sleeping. Cloudy and warm. A sweet morning, fresh on the island and the house quiet. Frank left early; a daughter takes his place on the bed to talk over coffee. Problem solving. It’s early for that. And then I take Charlie for a walk around our neighborhood and he resists the leash and drags. I sense he doesn’t really want to walk, He just doesn’t enjoy pavement and leashes. So, I get off on a bike ride which is exactly what I want and it’s delicious, despite the clouds. I end the day with a bike ride too, before sunset, down to Katama. What a gorgeous sky and a delightful breeze! Clouds clouds clouds are the news of the day. Sun came out in the afternoon and we all went out to Chappaquidick for some sun beside a raucous sea. Not great for swimming today, but we all were delighted to have the afternoon peace and solitude by the sea. I need to re-work one of the craft articles according the editor. I had two images i like a lot published in deLuge Journal, Tree of Peace and Wabi-Sabi, both Charles River wetlands images. Just before lunch we all went out on the bikes and got caught in a heavy downpour and had to turn back. No harm done. Fun, in fact. I told Wave that the Giant is shaking the water from the clouds, since this is where Jack spends a good amount of his time these days; up the beanstalk in the clouds. Taking pictures on my lone ride to Katama on the bike after dinner tonight, I am acutely aware of how special it is to be here experiencing this remarkable landscape.
