#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

And a bird overhead sang Follow,
And a bird to the right sang Here;
And the arch of the leaves was hollow,
And the meaning of May was clear.

― Algernon Charles Swinburne

Thank goodness, Fudgy is okay. Frank and Perri took good care of him. He’s a bit roughed up. Lost his handsome feathers, poor guy. But we’re glad to see him getting around. What rain this morning! A wonderful heavy downpour. I wanted to walk in the dripping downpour. I cut through the pine grove and got distracted by sticks and brush and branches to clean up. I couldn’t break the spell. Forced myself to go in for my swim while I had a chance before poetry workshop. It was cool and never really cleared up today. But the brook is filling and we need the rain. Poetry workshop was great. I got help on my poem. I made dinner, shrimp scampi, for me and Frank. My daughter and Wave were out, and they are home now. Tomorrow is my day to take him to the pool. He came home sweaty and sore from playing at the trampoline park with his friends. “Grammy, I can’t play fighting dinosaurs tonight. I pulled my leg.” Well, that’s a first. Now that we’ve had our day of rain, I would like for the sun to come back and dry everything out. Five days of May gone already. Already! I need to find a way to be more present so that I can really feel every moment of this wonderful month.
