#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Another fast paced, pre-holiday day, preceded by a leisurely, contemplative walk in the woods on top of old snow: my hour of pure, undistracted, creative play is bliss. My favorite picture: snow man in ice, reminds me of childhood play in a freshly snowed field, bundled into a snowsuit, playing with my sisters, soaking wet useless wool gloves, wet socks, aching fingers and toes and the sting of snowballs sent flying from my brothers. Hours and hours of outdoor play - building castles, fortresses, ice caves. Imaginative freedom, no hurry. My mother happy to have us go missing with each other for hours on end. Now, these pictures are my play. I am the mother gone missing in the frozen outdoors.
