#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Travel day.
I wake to news of an overnight freeze after rain. The path through the field toward the river is glazed and slippery under a low lit sky.
My walk will be shortened by a sudden change of plans and planes. A February snow storm bringing up to a foot of snow arrives tomorrow. I move my departure for a writing conference in Washington, DC up a day. This will not please the dogs.
Rain-warm temperatures yesterday have melted the ice on the swelling brook. Queen Anne's lace and milkweed husk are worn, wet, wonderful in stillness by the water's edge. Rainwater has dazzled the green of the tree fungus.
The woods wait for snow. Charlie and Suzi begin to miserably sense departure in the air as I head home abruptly to pack.
