I have a phobia of all rodents, so I'm happy to learn about the beaver and observe its behavior in the habitat without having to see him. Beavers are the largest rodents in North America. I found this diagram of a beaver skull that shows the size of the jaw and the powerful incisors she/he is using to chew through the trunk of this tree in the brook. For the past few nights the beaver has been toiling all night. Tomorrow or the next day, this particular tree will be felled and the brook will be impacted - I will soon see how.
