#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
The apple blossoms growing wild and untended at the edge of the meadow were a delightful surprise this morning.
They reminded me of being in elementary school, very likely it was first grade, at Center School. We had a May Day festival on the grass by the flag pole. There must have been apple blossoms in the school yard, and it seems to me this is the first time I realized there was such a thing as a fragrant flower on a tree that would someday grow an apple to be eaten in the autumn. And it was a revelation to me that something this marvelous could be learned at school.
