Sumac

Meadow reds, willow and sumac, dried flowers of March, and the furry buds of the fresh pussy willow. On Instagram today the overwhelming favorite choice of #mydailywalk photos is the winter ravaged sumac.  But my most interesting find of the day is the blue wired bound student planner I find by the side of the railroad tracks. The pages are waterlogged and clumped; nothing can be read. I pick it up and put it in my vest. I see some kind of poetic potential in it. I take it home to see how I might transform it, give it new life in a collage.
