Wake into spring. Except it’s cold! We went to the sandbox, first thing, me and the special one. But the sand was cold and the air was cold and our hands were cold. There was a little ice on the brook that we cracked. Then, went inside for hot chocolate. In the afternoon, I took my walk with Charlie to the river and woods, and it had warmed up quite a bit by then. It was lovely to be in the fresh air knowing another winter has been lived, and another spring is on its way in. I am thinking about the clean up, the garden, the pleasure of being outdoors most of the day long. And now, Frank is home.
