#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

The Climber, Rocky Narrows

Yikes, it’s not yet 8:30 p.m. and I can barely keep my eyes open. Charlie barked very very early to go out. Frank got up, but I was awake and rose soon after. Headed out with my walking sticks and Charlie, early, for my hike. Charlie didn’t follow me, and soon enough I heard voices behind me while I was still on our property by the river. My daughter and Wave had followed me with Charlie. Wave wanted to come with me. I said yes. But he wanted, first, to clear brush. I said no, it’s too hot, and I wanted to walk and he accepted this. We ended up on the path of Rocky Narrows, climbing the steep, rocky hills. Both of them. And coming back down. And I picked a pint of black raspberries growing wild and he ate them all out of my hand. Which was lovely. And we were tired when we got home, that’s for sure. And that was the start of a busy day. I got my 2nd craft article proofed and sent off, and started on the third. All the laundry caught up and the house organized, everything watered, and picked up bucket of ripe tomatoes to take with us to Martha’s Vineyard. Drove to the nursery and bought four houseplants for my son’s new office in his new job and left them for him as a surprise, because earlier this week he had asked me for help picking some out. Frank and I enjoyed a quiet dinner––leftover quiche I made from last night and he said it was my best ever, and better than any restaurant quiche! We packed and packed and I’m done.
