#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
First of all, storm. Rain, wind. Wetness and the blessings of it dramatically outdoors. And I tweaked my lower back yesterday. I overslept. I mean, 8:30 a.m.!!???? But I couldn’t get to sleep early enough and decided a storm was a good reason to rest. I drove up to the high school track to walk in the rain because I do that when it’s not safe to go into the woods. And I didn’t have enough time to think about a swim. I grabbed a half and hour on the track and went home happily wet. Workshop. I felt really good in workshop today. Grateful and the conversation was really interesting and insightful. My poem also got helpful feedback. Then I scooted off for a lunch with my daughter and my dear friend and her daughter, the four of us lifelong friends (since the girls were babies.) And today, celebrating one getting engaged to be married and the other just passing the Bar! It was a joyful, fun-filled lunch. So sweet to be together with these milestones. They were only months old in our arms when they met at their older sisters’ kindergarten orientations. And, of course, the hostages, the twenty living ones, a homecoming. All that poignant news. And then our power was out afternoon into evening. Around 8 p.m., Frank, Perri, Wave and I got our umbrellas and flashlights and walked the long driveway to the street where Eversource had trucks, fixing the line downed by trees. It was a pleasant walk in a light rain. A short time after we were back inside the lights came on. So, the Sunday pictured here was brought by the waiter as a surprise to our girls who promptly shared it between them on this celebratory day.
