#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Wetlands
Frank was up at 5:30 to go to his morning meeting and I woke as he left. Gave me time to write my weekly writing prompt and send it out, and then I fell back asleep listening to some lovely classical music. The house was so quiet. And unscheduled day. Eventually I went for a very long walk in the woods. There was a bit of ice here and there and I passed a few hikers with dogs and missed Charlie who would have greeted them all in a friendly way with his wagging tail. I had time to work on three poems I’m rewriting. Tomorrow there is a week off from workshop so I’ll go forward with these revisions and more until next week. Frank and Landon set up the tent after it fell down late last winter so they were out all day busy with that. It was certainly not pickle ball weather as it rained. Thanksgiving weekend winding down. In the late afternoon I put the poems away as as my eyes were blurred. I took the turkey carcass and made a big soup. Everyone for dinner but Wave and I served the soup over egg noodles and baked fresh popovers with honey butter and it was a sweet, relaxing cheerful dinner with the family altogether. We made plans for a forest bathing next weekend to celebrate my son’s birthday in the tent with a fire. I am quite tired tonight, and satisfied by this rich and lovely Thanksgiving weekend. And the wetlands were lovely this morning. I was so happy to be outdoors on the very last day of November.
