#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Sttream
A snowy cover on the ground. It’s a pretty morning. I decide to walk to the river and see the snow. It’s mild and bright. The geese are on the river and then the swans are there too, placid in water by snow. It’s nice to be out in the fresh air. As it turns out, Wave wants us all to go to the Museum of Science. This is a spontaneous and good idea. Soon after, me, Perri, Wave and Frank are in the car following the river into Cambridge. There is a little bit of snow falling. There is no traffic. It’s festive and decorated everywhere. No crowds in the museum and Wave is absolutely thrilled to be coaxing me toward the Bed of Nails exhibit which he assures me I’m going to have to experience it, no matter what. He goes first. Then I go and ramp up the drama a bit. He’s very happy in the museum and all of us are glad we’ve come. Then we need to say goodbye to him while he goes to his dads and we will see him for Christmas on Friday. The house is especially quiet when we get home. But I am happy to finish my baking. I’m making two desserts to take to dinner with friends nearby. I bake brownies from scratch and frost the applesauce cake, my mother’s recipe, that I made from scratch last night. Buttercream frosting. I’m very happy in the kitchen and Frank is happy to hang with me and chat which is nice. Then I bake some more of my molasses cookies to give away. We had the loveliest time with our dear friends and a delicious dinner. Lots of laughter, then music after dinner, guitars and songs. I’m so grateful for a day of happiness and gratitude for the peace of the swans.
