#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Caty McNally, Tennis Player, Newport, RI
How nice, after days of necessary rain, to have the rain stop. I swam this morning, with Wave beside me in the pool, and then it was time to go to Newport, RI, to see the tennis with Frank and Franci and her friend, Jacob. Frank gets seats for part of the tournament every year which is held at the Newport Hall of Fame Open. Frank got excellent seats and it was cloudy and not too hot. We watched two men’s singles matches and one woman’s singles match and had a nice lunch. Laughs and relaxation. In the late afternoon Franci, Jacob and I walked the Cliff Walk, the favorite beautiful treat of Newport. So many wildflowers beside the ocean rocks and the surf. And mansions, sure. But it’s the wildflowers with the view to the sea that impress me.
The poet Fanny Howe died on July 8, sadly.
