#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
If you are a poet, you will see clearly that there is a cloud floating in this sheet of paper.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Up early to send poems off to workshop. Already it’s hot. The sun is beaming on my back as I swim at Kingsbury. The water is almost too warm. These days the weather is cooking. Home for poetry workshop and a busy day of meetings in air conditioning. It’s really very hot and my energy is low, which is unusual. I think, maybe I will do gardening after dinner, when it’s cooler, if I have the energy. But it’s not cooler and I don’t have the energy. Except Wave is home from a day out with his mother. We play silly things while I make him a casual dinner. His mother needs to make a long phone call, so we go into the yard to water plants and I have a better idea. It’s still so hot! I get his water shooters and we soak each other around the yard. And when his mother comes we soak her too, and she is cheerful and doesn’t mind. Tomorrow I was able to set up a swimming lesson for Wave with a young man at Kingsbury so he can work on his strokes. One-on-one works best for him. Tomorrow I need to also do some prep for family dinner for Frank and Will’s birthdays, both this week, on Thursday night. Frank has a big project in the yard that is making him very happy for his birthday this year.
