#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Yes, I heard the male great horned owl around 6:30 a.m. this morning. One long hoot. Shortly after, another. No female. It was still dark out. I woke early to get a start on a busy day. I had two groups to prep. I warmed u the group room, got it ready and set up and then realized that outside the door, the front steps, the front walk, the driveway, the cars were all covered in sheer ice. Invisible ice. So I had to cancel the in person writers from coming and switched it to all online. Too bad. Then I went out the back door for my walk, all bundled up, and proceeded to slip on the granite steps and land flat on my back. Fortunately, unhurt. The steps just looked wet, not ice. That damned invisible ice! I walked with my ski poles. So slippery out. Three groups today, all excellent. Not much else done. Frank took the Christmas tree down! Surprised me! I was so happy! I have gotten used to doing it by myself, usually he’s out of town and I manage to undecorate it and drag it out the door. Christmas is complete.
