A pretty gate

Tonight I want to praise the moon in the clear sky, a purple-blue sky tonight, a 3 quarter full moon lighting our play on the pickle court outside after a busy day. I went out for forty minutes with Franci and Will just after dark and the bright moon was a lovely distraction The air autumnal and cool. We had fun, but I had to come in early and cook dinner in ten minutes and get to my computer to lead the Journal of Expressive Writing Open mic, which was lovely, as usual. And then the treat of jumping into my car to go to the Logan Express bus to get my dear friend from the airport! I’m an yawning myself to sleep, happily. My daughter home tonight and Wave home tomorrow. I was invited to be a featured poet today and it was a lovely invitation I’m looking forward to, a surprise, and I’m grateful. I had to drop my car downtown this morning for service, and took the long walk home, passed this pretty gate. It was a stunning fall day, and I was in it.
