#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Charles River Afternoon
Another beautiful fall day and a long walk, only five miles, along the river then up the street and back through the woods. Lots of clearing up clutter today. I came down from my office to find a beautiful surprise flower arrangement delivery left on my front step, from my classmates, for hosting tomorrow. Annie C. I’m sure is the one who thoughtfully sent the arrangement. She’s amazing, the way she is connecting people and talking and reaching out enthusiastically to draw everyone she can to our reunion. Getting reconnected to Annie has been a special part of this experience. We went to pre-school together! We rode the same kindergarten bus. She’s a delightful personality. I have no idea what it will be like tomorrow, who will be here, what it will be like. Wave came home this afternoon. He found the assortment of pumpkins and gourds I left on the front step. Of course, one of the big ones is now without a stem. No surprise there! We had to have a rolling contest with the gourds down the hill. We had some good races across the yard and I had to let him win, which surprised me, because he’s been beating me a lot lately. Frank home and we had takeout with Perri and Wave, a nice evening at home. I walked across the yard in the late afternoon talking to my son on the phone. These gorgeous, peaceful fall days of sunshine. So grateful. Franci home with Will from their honeymoon tomorrow.
