#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
The news was thrilling, really, and I stayed up late listening, and woke early to watch more. Relief all day, the feeling of how much Americans honor their right to vote. A lighthearted relief that ran through me all day. A lovely, long walk in the woods, over six miles, and a lighter Wednesday than I’ve been having lately, only two groups. In the late afternoon sent wrote a message that was not easy to write to someone, but needed to be sent. And I did that, then walked across the field to the river and watched the orange and black ripples on the river and soaked in the insights and revelations that come after saying something important that needs to be said. A quiet, productive evening after talking to my son who called and my daughters about the elections results. This morning my daughter showed me a picture from Wave’s backpack from school. The assignment was to draw a favorite place. He drew our living room! Which helps me accept the crumbs and spots of food I regularly find on the living room couch. Tonight I took apart my recent poem and redid it pretty radically and will look at it again tomorrow. Change is in the air. I set up my office in an unused room of the house and worked there all day liking my new perch. Very productive. Such a summery day.
