River Tree Pod Leaf
Franci telling a story, with Christopher Ellinger, co-founder True Story Theater
This morning I got a bit of sleep after having been to sleep late and waking up on and off. Frank came home, we had a tiff. What is a tiff? A tiff is a small disagreement where feelings are unintentionally hurt. On both sides. He walked Chippie out to the river. I didn’t want this tiff to grow or last. But, you never know if a tiff will grow into an argument or dissipate quickly. I decided to walk out to the river and see what could happen. The trees are reddish, coming into bloom over the river. There is a little mud from the rain. The sun coming out before more rain. the grass and the tennis court wet. The birds busy and noisy. Frank sitting on the bench. And he seemed surprised to see me. I shared what bothered me and why and he very quickly made amends. Oh! That simple. Going to the river and hoping for dissipation. It worked. We walked Chippie for a bit. Had a happy day. It rained more. In the afternoon I met my daughter Franci for a True Story Theater event in Arlington, a celebration of their 25 years as a troupe. Hooray! Saw some really superb playback and many dear people and was so grateful to be there with Franci, who is still a member of the troupe. I wonder if Wave will be a member of the troupe some day! Home to Chippie, everyone else out, and some time at the river with him. It stopped raining. Good thing, because he is scared of my black umbrella.
