My Milkweed Colony

My milkweed colony is gloriously out of control. And I have one or two more that have spontaneously appeared in other spots—new colonies. One thing I was delighted by today: there are two geese couples who are nesting together across the river. Co-habitating, I suppose. They swim throughout the day, each pair with its own goslings. Mid-day I walked Chippie to the river and they were all sunning themselves on our landing. They quickly swam away and Chippie didn’t notice them. Frank and I out to dinner alone! Just the two of us. Good conversation, relaxing and connecting. We came home at dusk to walk Chippie to the river and stayed out in the pleasant evening talking. We will have monarchs this summer.
