#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
The morning brook
It’s a rough wake-up as three of us have overslept, my daughter, my grandson and me. Chippie has escaped through his gate and had the run of the house while Frank was gone. Fortunately, no real damage, just a little bit of roughing up pillows and toys. Nothing damaged. And an accident. No worries. But there’s no way Wave will be on time for school and I jump in to help. Make his lunch. Make his smoothie, help my daughter manage his unwillingness to to accept that he doesn’t have time to linger. Somehow, he gets out the door. I manage to get my swim in, and Frank takes Chippie out. Work at my desk today and a client. I am almost ready to submit my AWP Panel proposal, worked on that a lot. Frank and I get together in the late afternoon, relaxed to do a little shopping. Wave needs a bigger size of wedding suit, so we successfully manage that. We have dinner at the restaurant, casual, relaxing, talking over lots of good things. Home in a light rain to take Chippie to the river for a walk before bed. The beaver is out. The deer are eating the vegetation at the boat ramp, and that have a right to do so. I find some more yellow lilies in bloom on the shore. All my shrubs that were decimated by the deer this winter are coming back to life with new growth. Relief. The brook is full and green and calm.
