So much done today and the sun and warmth, exquisite. Even a breeze. Lots of submissions out and then took Chippie to the river. Frank at tennis as we passed. Then Chippie hung out near me, tethered, while I watered the necessary plants and raked and weeded in the hot sun until I was a bit fried. Worked on a brand new poem, starting with a prompt I had on my desktop from Naomi Shihab Nye. Worked on it quite a bit in the afternoon. Thought it might not go anywhere. A lovely swim in the pond. Franci and Will returned for pickle in the early even. We’re all playing better. They got the upper hand tonight. Covered wedding details and they stayed for dinner and then I went back to my poem and found a first draft. So I won’t have to get up at the crack of dawn. Wave home tomorrow and his summer off from pre-school starts!
