#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

It’s June 16 and I’m wishing my mother a happy birthday in heaven. Wave, on summer vacation, didn’t appear until 10 a.m. when I was crossing the field with Chippie to go to the river. He saw me from the window. Next thing I knew he was bouncing a beach ball and following me to the river without a stitch of clothing on. The sun was warm and there was a delicious breeze crossing the field. I kept today for an errand day, and Frank and I got some errands done for the wedding. I got my swim in at Farm Pond, The breeze blowing up a choppy current. I went around the island and back and Frank waited for me on the beach. I made a delicious homemade lasagna with spinach. One of my very best! After dinner Wave and I crossed the field to the river with Chippie again to close the day. Frank was playing tennis as dusk neared. On the way back Wave and I made a deal to play star fighters with the foam rolls for ten minutes with a five minute extension. When there was only 30 seconds left he asked me to pause the timer to get him some ice water—we had worked ourselves hot and dry. I wanted him to just let go of the 30 seconds, but of course, he wouldn’t. After the cold drinks, we had our 30 seconds of play left. We always had strawberry shortcake and lobster for my mother’s birthday dinner. I miss her.
