Black swallowtail in the clover

Wake, butterfly—
it's late, we've miles
to go together.

More summer heat and it’s dry but the plants are not dry yet. They drank so much on Monday. The house is quiet. I work some more and more on my new poem. I keep wanting to work on it. It enchants me, whether it ever enchants anyone else, I’m grateful for it. I go for a long walk and make some calls and have some good long talks while I’m walking the sunny meadows. The butterflies I see are black swallowtail and monarch. I am home in time for my Israeli group, and then work on a variety of things after that. I prep my grandmother workshop for tomorrow. I have a chance for along talk with Frank and a long talk with Perri. We’re missing Wave. It’s nice to connect deeply with many people in my life today.
