#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Charles River Afternoon

Back into the pool this morning. It was raining hard when I first woke up. I had a lovely swim. Not sure why I have been out of the pool in the first place these past two weeks or so. Happily, I have returned. Today, Wednesday, my three group day, starting with craft, and then Israeli, and tonight my grandmother writing workshop, which is going gangbusters with wonderful writing and sharing. This afternoon, while I was waiting to meet with my daughter and husband on wedding plans, I walked out to the river. The temperature was so mild and the light was so bright and the colors of the foliage so vibrant. I startled a cormorant that I meet from time to time who lives near. She swam away in a sea of gold light. My daughter is working so hard on the wedding plan. She’s quite on the ball and in charge. We looked at places for the family to stay during the wedding, just before and for a bit afterwards as it will be the week before 4th of July, a lovely time to be on Martha’s Vineyard. Something very special to look forward to. I missed Charlie so much today. I wanted him to trot into the kitchen and keep me company and ask for food. I wanted him to come to the river with me. I think about getting another lab, of course. And talk myself out of it. Because this is the year for the wedding, and focusing on that. Another lab, another darling, I think there’s a place in the future for one. My aunt has been in the hospital for a day or two and is getting out tomorrow. I plan to drive out in the morning to see her. The brook is full again. Collecting autumn leaves, letting them sink to the bottom.
