#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Charles River Morning
Up early in almost November. It’s still dark. Today is Heritage Day at Wave’s school. A half day and a parade and I get to go with his mom. I go out early to the river and pull invasive vines out of trees, move lots of dead brush. It’s warmish. The light on the river is low. Then I go in to make the crepes. We are celebrating the French part of Wave’s heritage with crepes, fresh strawberries and fresh whipped cream. Perri and I work at a fast clip to get everything cooked and packed and out the door. It’s such a sweet parade outdoors. Some of the kids wear heritage related clothing. Wave smiles and waves at me and his mother. Then there is a classic elementary school “show” with all the classes singing a song from one of the continents they studied. We were all outside under the magnificently tall pines. A lovely morning. Wave smiling and happy. After the performance the kids were set free to see parents, and all the foods from all the families was brought out - a lovely banquet. Delicious things were brought. All Wave wanted to do was play with me in the playground. Chasing games, hide and seek, freeze tag. So that’s what we did! So, another day of no writing done, but I had a great client session and got nice time with Frank going out to visit a friend who’s in a rehab for his leg, and then out to dinner with Franci and Will where we got to talk about—guess what? Yup. It’s really fun having this wedding to talk over whenever we see them. Great progress today.
