#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Today the cold came in. Turned the heat on. Wave home. Likes to climb into my already made bed on days off. So he did. And then I left for my swim. Ran into my good friend who swam in a lap beside me and I was glad to see her there, we’ve swum in so many special places together. Poetry workshop this morning. More revision. Manuscript progressing. Then my Ukrainian group, intimate and inspiring. Break in the afternoon. I took Wave to gymnastics. It’s favorite time for me, watching him run through his routines learning tumbling and balance, doing things for the first time with such energy and a sense of openness to learning and making mistakes. If he flubs a part of his routine he runs back over it again trying to get it right. It was dark as we left the building at 4:30! Wave said to the kids and parents coming through the door for their class, “What are you doing coming here—it’s night!” And yet that’s what we’ll be doing next week when the new session starts. We’re moving him to the 4:30 class so he can be with some friends who are joining in. Frank cooked, we ate in the front of the fire trying to warm up. He also cleaned up so I could do group tonight. In the mail today someone sent me a beautiful pen. I have no idea who sent it! I’ll happily use it and hope the mystery is solved.
