How is it I have forgotten to tell about the dolphins? Every day of this trip they have appeared in the Gulf. The first morning I walked a small group swam about 50 feel from shore. We were heading in the same direction and I got to be in their cheerful presence. The next day, not quite so dramatic, but they appeared in the distance of my morning walk. The next day, hilarious. Frank and I were seated watching the sun set over the Gulf. And then a pair suddenly appeared—dipping and jumping playfully up and down as if they had been hired by the resort for the sunset show. The dolphins have been a joyful part of this trip. Up early, out early, sun rise and shells. Poetry workshop on Zoom. A very especially good one. Then a swim in the pool and my dear friend from Tampa arrived for a long conversation over lunch. A nap. I will return tomorrow quite refreshed. I will take the dolphin joy with me.
