#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

After waking this morning I take a look at last night’s collage and study it. And realize it’s not finished. I follow an impulse to add the element of the swimmers, me walking out of the shell beside my daughter and friend, and the element of my grandson, swimmer, and the element of my mother’s legs and her face. After this, it really feels finished, and I’m still thinking about it and feel very satisfied with my additions, pointing to ancestry. And then I woke Wave and gave him a crepe and went off for my swim. The pool was nice and warm. I didn’t realize how very cold it was this morning until I went for a brief walk to the river after my swim before going inside. My hands were icy. And there actually was ice forming on the river’s edge. Then I checked the temperature - it was in the mid-twenties this morning, which came to me as a shock. Still, I was glad to be out to the river. And tonight, just before our quiet dinner by the fire Frank and I went out at dark. The starry sky and the mildness. Frank wanted to show me the lights for the tennis court which are very bright and the stars went away until he turned them off. Wednesdays are my busy days. Starting with craft and then Israeli group and then my play lab. All very stimulating. I enjoyed the quiet dinner with Frank. We make each other laugh. Tonight felt like a continuation of our trip. Just the two of us. Then tonight I went to a poetry reading/discussion by my poetry mentor and this was also very stimulating. I’m so glad I was able to bring the shorebirds home with me and put them in this collage. They continue to offer happiness and delight. And more than that, a kind of wisdom here in this strange sea.
