Up early to send a poem off to workshop. Wave gets breakfast and I head out the door for my swim. I love the feeling of the holiday stretching to the whole week. I have a good poetry workshop and then Frank, who is free in the afternoon, and I go to the supermarket for a major shop. Thank goodness he is with me. It’s a very big job made lighter by sharing it. I buy fresh flowers and after the shop and putting it all away I bake a poppy seed bread. The house smells of lovely baking. The turkey bought. A nice dinner with Wave and my daughter, Frank and me by the fire with the candles lit and a cheerful mood all around. Poetry tonight with friends to end the evening so well. And this collage, spontaneously made which seems to be in my cheerful holiday mood and features Wave’s mother, her eyes on all of us.
