#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Danusha Lameris quote from her poem Small Kindnesses

Okay, so, it was too early, but I woke up and was glad for that because I wanted to have a full day that was also a quiet writing day. A retreat day. To start with a cold walk. I walked on the track at the high school, to be outside, to have my cheeks red and to walk fast, to power walk. There is a man, probably ten years older than me, that I’ve been seeing there recently. We are friendly, but stay in our lanes. I think I’ve paced him. He seems to be walking faster around the track than when I first saw him. It’s nice to have another friendly walker out in the cold as the wind blows hard across the open field. Home to my client, my one client. Then it was the rest of the day my turn to focus on my writing and projects. Except one call from my aunt from her new phone. The entirety of the project isn’t done, and I really need to get back there in the next couple of days. But for today, her new phone is charged and she’s using it. Hooray! Frank is still away. Wave was home today, but I decided to work in my private out of the way office and I did. Got two poems revised. Then I dug into my newsletter and organizing my winter offerings and that really took a few hours, but my time was my own and I was happy to get it done! I listened to the news today here and there, and read some too. And I decided that I needed to narrow my view on things today: in the sense of being a decent person in the small world of my own daily life. I took opportunities to give even small good things to those who crossed my path.
