#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

River morning

I wake on the couch in the quiet house. There is no rush, no school. Low clouds. The house is warm with the heat not on. A good sign of spring. Soon, I hear them awake upstairs and find his fever has broken. His stomach is recovering. He doesn’t like the smell of my croissant toasting. His toys beckon him after a day of his absence. He is content, home from school with his mother. I go out for my walk. They wave to me from an upstairs balcony when they see me in the yard. I tell him I’m about to swim and he is eager to join me in the pool. He will swim while I do my laps and he enjoys getting into my lane to block me––he knows I’ll playfully go under or around him. He has energy, and so do I. And a busy day I have. A craft group, my Israeli group, and a writing client. I work on my newsletter after that. Wave and his mother out of the house a few hours. Frank away. So quiet, I get so much done. All my sheets washed and bed made clean and I am in it. Gratefully, to be in a house of recovery—and no one else sick in this moment. There is lots of wind and heavy clouds. Some moments of sun.
