#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Night of the full flower moon. It was bright and blue sky at wake-up. Wave’s first ask: can I have blueberry pie after dipping egg? We had the pie last night & he had seconds. This morning thirds. After the egg. My daughter said he’s developed a passion for blueberries––a power food––after reading to him from one of her nutrition books. He tells me blueberries surpass Popeye’s spinach for strength. I am going to have to uptake my blueberry intake to wrestle him. I woke early and revised my poem for morning workshop. Whew! Managed to get a good one. I was pretty tired today. But the sticks got me going. Then a swim. This afternoon my youngest came by for our annual walk to find the Lady Slippers, which turned into a walk to Farm Pond for a quick dip in the surprisingly warm water, then the walk home, which turned into stopping at the trestle bridge to hop into Frank’s boat for a quick river cruise. Passed the beaver den. Saw the beaver! Only one painted turtle on a log because the water is so high all the logs are submerged. Well, Franci won the lady slipper sighting. She was quick with all of her sights today and I was slow. She spotted the orioles, the heron, the beaver, the slippers, the butterfly. . . I kept dinner very simple and got ready with some revision for tomorrow’s workshop. I have chosen an intense commitment. Still, it’s working for me to get the poems out and everything this manuscript is teaching me is worth it.
