#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

The rain all day was so pleasant. I wanted to be out in it, especially when it was drilling down in a heavy pouring. I was busy when the rain was most inviting. There is a tremendous freshness outside, and a light cool breeze through the open window. And something chirping tonight, after dark. Non-stop. All evening. Something very alive and intense. Under my window. I worked on the brush today and skipped my swim. Frank promises to help me this weekend with the chain saw. I helped Wave get out the door with some races. Five laps around the circular drive. Both of us breathless from our races. But it makes him very happy to get out the door. Me too. Frudgy continues to recover and gets much tlc and many check-ins from family members. Perri cooked him a special breakfast. His tail feathers, Perri says, will take four months to grow back. But at least they will grow back! What gorgeous tail feathers he lost. My best hour today was in the pool with Wave. Diving for the rings. Diving off my hands. Swimming crazy happy both of us. And as I exited the pool, a young mother with a three year old girl in the pool with her asked me, “Are you an instructor?” I laughed. No, just a grandmother. Apparently I could have been hired to help her three year old gain confidence and learn to swim. I came home and made chicken and wine dinner and everyone thanked me. Tonight, my Tuesday night writers. We went deep and hard as the pouring rain. This morning I also had my own poetry workshop. Incredibly helpful. How happy I am that I picked up this second group. I am getting just what I need for my manuscript. And I’m tired. Sigh. A lovely day.
