#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Waking into a rainy Saturday. Frank kindly brings me coffee. It will be a busy one. No Wave in the house, so it’s very quiet. Cloudy outside. Frank has hired a couple of guys to work on the yard and shows up with them at 8:00. I go out too and rake, trim, weed, pot plants. . . no swim, I have only a few hours to focus on the yard. I want to go to the Natick No Kings protest and then my cousin’s book release party. I make it to both. In Natick, it’s raining, but the sidewalks in the center of town are lined with hundreds of protesters. I am very glad to be one of them. Then I go to my cousin’s lovely book signing. She has published a lovely book, “Penwick and the Peacock. Her writing with someone else’s illustrations. It’s a gorgeous project, and a nice tine to visit with cousins and family. Home to a bit more yard work with Frank. Terrible news today. I’m worried about friends in Israel, and the news of the murder of Melissa Hortman and her husband is horrific. It’s simply too tragic. The house is quiet tonight, extra quiet, me and Frank and it’s nice to be together looking out on the yard under clouds and listening to the birds. Wishing peace and safety to all.
