Dinosaur Headlamps Charging

I wake up extra early to work on poems for workshop. Somehow, I get two in shape enough to bring. Frank stays home from his meeting so he can see Wave who is home this morning. We wake him, and he is so happy to see Frank whom he hasn’t seen in a few days. He wants eggs AND pancakes, so I get busy on that, and Frank gets busy putting together the gift a dear friend has given him because she knows how much we love playing fighting dinosaurs. These are headlamps––the dinosaur heads attach to the headlamp. And they do way more than that. The roar, loudly and ferociously. They breathe steam. They light up! He is thrilled and doesn’t take his off until he has to go to school. It’s my day to pick him up. I think we won’t want to go to the pool, it’s cloudy and cool. But it warms up to the low seventies, and we decide to go. Thank goodness the water is heated. It pours the whole time we are swimming, and still I have to drag him out. Today I teach him the crawl. Tonight I lead my final Tuesday night group of the season. We break for summer now. It’s sad to end. But the break will be fruitful, I’m sure. As it is every summer. Frank and I prepare for our trip to Greece Thursday. We arrive in Greece on Friday, summer solstice. Hooray for summer. Hooray for dinosaurs. Hooray for friends who give special gifts, just the right ones.
