I woke and looked at my two newest poems. Tried to go for my swim but there were no reservations available. Went out to do yard work under overcast skies. Weeding, raking. Frank soon home and got on the tractor and we worked on a project together all morning, creating a new garden space by clearing some vines and overgrowth. Then his tractor died and he couldn’t get it restarted. He was quite frustrated, tried everything. He hopes to get it fixed tomorrow. I found three turtles laying eggs in or near the garden. Two painted turtles and a snapper. Busy day for eggs. The scavengers will have a feast tonight! I worked for hours outside and came in tired but satisfied. On Ancestry.com I found two great great grandparents I’ve been looking for which was very exciting for me. From Ireland. My Irish roots. Frank, Perri, Wave and I drove to a party of a dear friend in sheets of rain and traffic. The party was worth it and worth the trouble. Music, tranquil view of the ocean, excellent food and a swim in their pool with me and Wave. Friends and lovely people. A wonderful day despite the rain. The grass seed loves this soaking rain.
