#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

It’s pretty special to swim in San Francisco Bay in view of the Golden Gate Bridge The water was cold and refreshing. No clouds in today’s sky. It was an amazingly clear, bright, hot San Francisco Bay day, start to finish. Somehow, we all got a bit of sunburn! I’m so grateful to be in this comfy bed tonight, happily exhausted. Who knew a trip with a four-year-old could be this fun! The four of us are having a blast. Day started with me watching Wave at a playground while Liz & Perri went to a yoga class. The slide was wet and there weren’t other kids there, but we improvised and had some fun. Then he wanted a piggy back the mile and a half uphill to Liz’s house. I needed the exercise. We went across the Golden Gate Bridge and SF was very crowded with people and dogs by the water. We really enjoyed meeting about 100 dogs and we had Liz’s two dogs with us and we all swam and sunned and it was so pleasant. Dinner outdoors In Tiburon tonight, laughed and enjoyed a fine meal. Today in the water, Liz and I were waist deep in the waves and Wave said, hold hands! Now I get to choose who I’ll swim to—two grandmas! Which one will I pick! And then I knew Liz had passed the best test. He is so completely at home here. And with her dogs! He picked Liz twice before I got my turn, and that was all right with me. A kid can never have enough good grandmothers. He’s so very happy on this trip, and me and Perri too.
