#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Homecoming at dusk

It’s 5:00 a.m. and the alarm. A quick departure, with tears. Very hard for Wave to leave Brewster, in particular. But we get the tears to stop in the Uber when the driver, Leonard, tells us that he saw a pack of wild coyotes one early morning in San Francisco. Then, the rest of the day is a piece of cake. The flight home, the Uber home. Perfect. And Frank, instead of picking us up, has shopped and made a lovely dinner. Landon, Franci and Will greet us and we have a dinner around the table, all in high spirits trading stories. Mostly our stories. About airplanes and Disneyland, dogs and the Golden Gate Bridge, swimming with the surfers and a lot of ice cream. He asks Landon if they can have a tea ceremony after dinner, and that is just ending now. We all walked out into the yard to see Frank’s new project, the tennis court. It was an amazingly cheerful and smooth homecoming. And so my summer travel is finished. The greater San Francisco area really gives me a psychic boost. I feel clear headed, positive. I really am so inspired by the openness and the vibe. And being with my daughter and dear friend and Wave and having it go so smoothly. And happy to be home with Frank, with Land and Franci and Will. And I worked on a poem on the plane. Another major revision, about the fourth. I think I’m making progress.
