#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Fall Equinox, Afternoon on the Charles
Happy fall equinox, I think, as I awake to another summery day. But the light is changing, changing all the scenery and all the sense of what season is this. I decide I am in a cutting and brush clearing mood. So I go out for a good workout with the trees and branches. I am happy to be outdoors and engaged with the clean up again. The stone wall will be remade this week! I am working on an area clearing up near the wall. It’s never ending out there. Poetry workshop goes well with feedback for my new poem, Positive, helpful. I return to the Wave collage and have an insight about it while I’m working on the brush. I make some changes later that I like. I am seeing that the collage is very much like the poems: revision. Revision in another medium, works the same. I do a big food shopping. I am in a cooking mood because it’s fall and I feel like cooking dinners. Sit down dinners. So I prep dinner early: make chili because Frank loves it. Vegetables, dessert, for Wave, who is finally home and wishes I had made the angel food cake from scratch (out of a box) but I bought it already prepared. Still, he eats the strawberry shortcake right up. Thank goodness he’s at the table and making dinner extra special. Late afternoon a bit more brush work which I do so I can delay taxes. And the river is gorgeous in the late afternoon light. And a client canceled for tomorrow, so the taxes can move into that slot. I have a poem ready for tomorrow, I need two, so I’ll wake early. Candles lit for dinner, the dark coming early.
