#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
“Swooping & Fanning” Collage inspired by a poem from Robert Hedin
Tonight, the windows open, the muggy air, the crickets chirping. This morning, rain from the night on the grass. A simple rain. No wind. A good wetness on the earth. I didn’t sleep that well, but got up early. Wave ran through my room. This morning was crepe and strawberries. He asked for my leftover soup for his lunch. I went for a swim. His mother said that in the car he said my soup was a perfect soup. Not too healthy - meaning too green- and yet healthy enough with chunks of carrots. He calls it ramen soup. Because it has egg noodles. I ran craft, an excellent session, first of the fall and then Israeli group, the celebration of Rosh Hashana having just ended in Israel. And then a client. Tonight, did not cook. Wave is gone. House quiet. I didn’t walk today because I swam and had neck soreness and had body work in afternoon. Played, tonight, with the second Wave collage of the triptych. Just playing and learning and having fun. Seeing what I can do. Happy to find the poem by Robert Hedin that I borrowed some lines from - a very poignant poem, beautiful. Swooping and fanning. Wow. Really fit the images I was collaging. Delight. The images are all mine, mostly from this summer, but the grapevine arch is from his mother’s wedding to his father at the river. Wave in his goggles is from a delicious day at the pool. The marriage didn’t last, but the boy emerges from it. Monarch from chrysalis.
