#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Sunrise

I woke up feeling very happy and very tired. And the sky was wildly lit, orange and pink. And I had a lot to do. So I got up and got to to it. Coffee first. Yesterday’s party cleaned up, and today’s party starting a half an hour earlier than yesterday with eighteen or so kids arriving soon. We had a loose plan, Perri, Frank, Franci and me. And Wave woke up and asked for eggs and somehow before that I managed a lovely four mile walk and chat with my sister and my dear friend and Franci picked up the cake I’d ordered and Frank went to the supermarket and somehow the tables got set up and the drinks and the karaoke machine we bought him for his birthday with four mics and the goodie. bags were assembled and the stage set up and the pizza was ordered and the kids arrived and the parents and Wave was happy and all the kids were sweet and loud and Franci and I led games on the tennis court and they ate and they did karaoke and Wave with the microphone was the most adorable and my nieces came to help and they are wonderful angels and then it was time for goodbyes and Wave got emotional and his mother helped him out and then with my nieces and Will and Franci and Frank and his mom he opened all of his presents and one by one someone helped him put together his legos and I cleaned up and was quite grateful to put the second party to bed and then I took a nap. Tonight, worked on revising a poem. I don’t know. It needs more work. I’ll look at it freshly in the morning. But I’m glad to have something. Oh, what a happy weekend. How grateful I am. Lots of kids made happy today. A good day.

Oh, and did I forget to mention the spectacular military flyover for Gillette Stadium (nearby in Foxboro for the Patriots game) that took place above our heads while we were on the tennis court????

We’ve set the bar pretty high for Wave’s kindergarten class!
