#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Okay, so the clocks turned themselves back and I had no idea this was happening until this afternoon. Because who consults a clock anymore? I go by digital time and digital time snuck up on me. Woke early, talked to Frank and went outside in the blissful sunshine of another fine day except today it’s now November! A very sunny November day and still the gold flying down to the ground. I needed to go to the market, so I walked into Medfield Center and back with my backpack filled. It was eight miles. I listened to a spooky short story that was pretty good but made me so anxious I almost stopped listening. “Family Lore,” by Tea Obreht in the New Yorker. Kept me interested! Then I worked on my poem for tomorrow. A big revision. Reordering, slicing and dicing. Then I made quesadillas, two kinds, everyone’s favorite and went to a lovely afternoon outdoors at the fireplace with a blazing fire with dear friends for birthday happiness in the brisk autumn air. Children to play with. Grownups to talk to. About poetry and more. Home to work more on my poem. It’s better, I think. It’s pleasant to think so, before going to sleep.
