#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Morning Brook

Out under tonight’s stars with Chip. I had many helpers today, a busy house. Frank takes him out first thing which is nice. I write my weekly blog and get that sent off and feel quite productive. Still working on revising the poem I’ve worked on all weekend. By tonight, I have finished it enough to put it aside for workshop feedback. A nice surprise I had today: Franci’s two besties stopped by for a visit. She and Will were here, so I got nice chats amidst the chaos of Wave and Perri’s friends visiting with three children, and Chip here of course. Happy chaos. Chippy got lots of love today. We had our first outdoor pickle time with Chip running around and Wave riding his tricycle and somehow we managed three games and Will and Franci beat us 2 games to one. Also got my car stuck in the snow trying to drive across the field so Chippy could be in his crate in the back of the car to watch the pickle. Then Frank brought his Bronco out to rescue my car from the sludge and got his stuck too. So, we had a lot of shoveling and then he got his tractor out and pulled both cars back to the driveway with that. My goodness, what a day. Twice I collapsed in drowsiness onto my couch for quick naps. I made everyone’s favorite chicken parmesan for dinner and ate mine while tweaking my poem. Tonight I met with Randy and Marlon, two poet friends I met at the Truchas, New Mexico Tupelo manuscript years ago and we’ve been sharing poems on Zoom ever since. Special time. A lot packed into this one special day.
