#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Evening comes

Sleep not disrupted and Frank is willing to get up at 5:00 a.m. with Chippy, the adorable dog. He’s a handsome and challenging delight and growing like mad into a fine chocolate lab in our home. Everyone at home pitching in. Wave is loving him a lot, but needs supervision. He so wants to cuddle Chippie, his brown deliciousness. But beware of the pen-knife sharp puppy teeth. So, we’re working on letting them get to share affection in manageable ways. Wave grows as fast as the puppy, readying for kindergarten in the fall. I have a busy and satisfying day helping writers with their writing, my passion. Loving seeing the advancement of the craft of writers I get to work with. And my Israeli group, I lead a creative exercise about Spring and there are some fascinating results. Life in Israel is challenging. War is immediate, rattling. Sirens, alarms, safe rooms. Disruption. In our group, everyone makes time to be with each other. War is not an abstraction. I have started raking the yard. Moist and muddy earth emerging from the snowy ground. Most of the snow melted and gone. Chippy is happy to be outdoors so I’m raking while he sniffs and meets the world outdoors with his nose and paws. Frank and I go on some light errands in the late afternoon. I’ve hardly been out of the house since Chippy came! It’s nice to have some relaxing time with Frank to just chat about yard work and landscaping and projects and the coming wedding and summer. Tonight I take Chippy out at almost dusk. The air is mild. There is no wind to stir the garden gong.
