#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Web on the river’s edge

Oh, more rain and cold. But Chippie wants to be with me in the yard and we have clean up from the clean up yesterday to do. Sticks, sticks and sticks. So satisfying to see the piles, most of them, carried away. I love being outdoors despite this gloomy weather. I remember how overwhelmed I felt in February and March about the property needing clean up. So many branches and sticks littering. And now it’s nearly done. Today I got back to writing by writing about my angst in my journal this morning. Got my perspective and creative impulse back. I am going through the older manuscript seeing if I want to revise it for publication. Or, which poems from it are viable. I played with revision, giving myself permission to just engage with poems to see if I want to change formats and titles and see what, if anything, I want to workshop. It’s okay to not know what I want to do with this yet. To let my thinking and revision progress. Or not. Frank and I took a ride on a few errands in the late rainy afternoon and Chippie rode along. A quiet Sunday reminding me of the family drives my parents took us on on Sunday afternoons. Relaxing. Then home, back to the poems. Grateful for energy.
