Chippie in the Brook
Beaver!
Oh, Chippie. I do hope the skin on my arms and legs heals before the wedding! Patience, patience. Loved taking him to the river today, though. Hot, bright, and the music of the pileated woodpecker drilling, drilling, declaring his/her robustness. The beaver took another chunk of the limb. A friend came over with her dog and Chippie couldn’t handle the play date, but my friend and her dog got a walk while Chippie had to be left behind. He’s three times as big as her dog and doesn’t know his own strength! Hotter and hotter today. Everything so alive here. I attended a webinar offered by the Geneva Writers Group with Yun Wei on writing to change the world. I love Yun and always get so inspired in her offerings. Then to Kingsbury to watch Wave enjoy the pool. I had my swim earlier and he was happily playing with a favorite friend. He doesn’t need Grammy in the pool with him! Which is good, because friends are a blast and he’s going to kindergarten. Quite a storm blew in early evening. Thunder, lightning, Chippie anxious. Me too. All the rain came down on all the living things. There are four brand new mouths to feed on the deck above the double doors on a little platform Frank told me he made for a potential nesting bird a couple of years ago. So, here it is. The new mouths. New birds. New songs and wings for all of us.
