#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Bluebird on the Charles near dusk
I was working on my new poem on my computer this morning when Wave came running into my room. “You have to come, Grammy! Mama lost a lash!” I didn’t know if this was an accident, or what, but I went running downstairs with him. Turns out we all needed to make a wish on his mother’s eyelash so he could blow it away. I was touched that he needed/wanted me to be a part of that. I made my secret wish and I hope it comes true. Today was lovely, warm, not hot, and a fabulous breeze in the summer yard. I weeded and trimmed and cleaned up outside and had a great conversation with my dear friend while I was working. Did some organizing for the wedding packing. Frank played tennis and I went in the afternoon to help Franci do some organizing too. Swam in the pool before dinner, a dinner Frank made for us, and then we went out on the early evening river. Herons, beaver, all kinds of birds, including this bluebird impression that makes me very happy. I like my new poem. We’ll see if it communicates to more than just me when I bring it to workshop Monday.
